SMLG attributes Fav types difference between B & W

Hi all,

I am trying to find out which FAV type to be used in  SMLG for different logon groups

ex: cccGRP for interactive users with 6 app servers, cccBTC with 3 batch app servers  & cccRFC 4 apps for syncronous RFC communications

For Interactive users  & BTC we have fav type B [ Best performance ] and for RFC we have W [ Weighted round robin]

Are there any best practices SAP recommend which fav type can be used for different logon groups...

RZ12 what servers are  recommended to have for parallel_generators  group.? is it RFC dedicated server  group

Please suggest..

Thanks,

Subhash.G

Hello Subhash,

You should choose the fav type that best suites your needs.

And RZ12 groups are used for RFC load balancing from within the system.

For example, a batch job that creates parallel tasks (using RFC calls to the system itself), or even the RFC schedulers (transactions SMQS and SMQR).

Thanks for  the reply.

If the batch program not specify any grp name  but selected parallel processing option , does it takes the servers  by default assigned to parallel_generators?

Thanks,

Yes.

"parallel_generators" will be the default group.

In case it is not defined at RZ12, all instances will be part of the group.
