Hi ,

Can any one tell about about the below points related Tyre serial number using IE4N

1 PR-PO-GRN  - equipment Created for each serial number during Migo .(Will it be considered as Asset)

2 Material with serial number Installed with 261 movement type (Consumption )

3 Now when we dismantle using split valuation in material .

which movement type (Best practice) will be used for below :-

i ) Damaged tyre's which will be repaired and used again.

ii) To scrap the tyre (no use).

4 If we dismantle the tyre , will our maintenance cost reduces.

I shall to thankful to SCN experts.

Thanks

Ashu

Greetings Ashu,

Do you dismantle the tyre with reference to a PM Work Order? Performing a goods return for the Material  (unplanned, or planned movement type 262 with reference to the Order will be key here).

Your scenario could look similar to this:

1. I assume you have an Equipment Hierarchy (the vehicle is created as an Equipment & the tyres are created as serialised sub-equipments).

2. I assume you have a serialized Material "TYRE" with split valuation maintained.

3. I assume you have a Work Order created for the Equipment for the tyre replacement. You have a serialized spare tyre in your warehouse that also exists as an Equipment.

a) So you would go into IE4N and perform a PMGR session Dismantling of the old Tyre-Equipment-SerialNumber(1) with the movement type 262, Valuation Type "BROKEN" (or similarly confgured)  and reference to the PM Order.

The Order costs will be reduced by the value of the "broken" tyre.

You will get a "broken" tyre in the stock.

Or, do the same, but with a "USED" tyre that can be re-used as your Valuation Type.

b) You would then install your spare Tyre-Equipment-SerialNumber(2) with the same t-code with PMGI session , using the movement type 261, Valuation Type "NEW" and a reference to the PM Order.

You will see the Order is booked with the cost of the "new" tyre.

Therefore, your total cost is less than the new tyre cost by either the "USED" or "BROKEN" (scrap) value. And from there, you could also go into Refurbishment orders to patch broken tyres up into used ones...

Scrapping the "BROKEN" tyres would be a separate MM stock process using a movement type such as 201 or similar...
