Role Import error - Language Invalid

Hi,

We are trying to perform role import into a GRC 10.1 SP07 system. Backend system is ECC. We receive an error as shown below:

The role has description (AGR_TEXTS) in all languages, including English and the one that shows above to be invalid.

This language (and another 4 of them) is present in ECC (table T002) but not in GRC (table T002). Can this be an issue?

The user logon for the role import happens via language English.

1. How to resolve this issue?

2. Can we specify specific language during role import?

3. Does GRC pull in texts for all languages for a role while role import, irrespective of logon language?

4. Does this mean all languages in backend systems must be available in GRC for role import to work flawlessly?

Thanks

Sammukh

Issue is resolved!

All languages in the backend system with role descriptions (AGR_TEXTS) table, must be available in the GRC system (language install and listed in T002 table).

Once this was done for the language that was erroring out, the role import now works fine.

Thanks

Dear Sammukh,

what is the reason of importing a language if it's not available in GRC? It seems that you are trying to import mandarin that is invalid (not installed) in GRC box. I don't see any benefit in importing as this might never be used as no one logs in and sees/uses the language.

Let us know.

Hi Alessandro,

The language is there in the backend system (ECC). The roles there have role descriptions in this language.

We are not importing the language into GRC. We are performing the role import into GRC. Now these roles fail saying the language is invalid. I am assuming since these roles have descriptions in this language in ECC, GRC is trying to pull these in? In doing so, it is failing as this language is not available in the GRC system.

While doing the role import I do not see an option to restrict the language, thus GRC is probably pulling in everything attached to the role from ECC, thus these language texts too?

Thanks

Hi Sammukh,

is your system set as unicode? You can check from System > Status.
