plant shutdown for physical inventory

We want to have physical inventory for 2 day in the month of september. How we can plan that no goods receipt or goods issue for delivery to be planned for these two days. Like it should be considered like weekend or holiday for that specifc plant. SO PO delivery date or outbound delivery picking date should not be physical inventory date.

without clear communication internally as well as externally to customers, vendors and your carriers you can't really assume that there will be nobody who is late or early and standing at your doors exact on these 2 days. And if they are coming from far away and it will cost you extra money if you send them away then you really think twice if you are doing that.

Your vendors will not know that your plant has a shutdown (even it is not really needed as I explained in my blogs

just because you change your plant calendar.

Even with a good communication you will usually face this situation that a few deliveries arrive or people want to pick-up some material.

Hi,

   You may check the functionality of "freeze book inventory" and "posting block" in MI01, which can control the physical inventory even with running business. You may set up the configuration in OMBP. Also check the "adjust book inventory" option in OLMB - PI - Settings for PI.

   If you want the particular dates to be counted as a holiday, you have to maintain the same at factory calendar level, as already suggested by experts.

Please shedule background job for according to factory calendar in SM35.

Select all days except 2 days requirement. For more details please discuss with Basis guys.

Hope those two days are not planned shut down as per your factory calender.

In such situation you need to freeze the Goods receipts and issues for all the storage locations of your plant on those two days.

For those two days create physical documents by activating "Freeze Book inventory" and "Posting block".

Have done spro settings to freeze the storage location for book  inventory balances?

Try with Factory calendar mark the days as holidays.
