Create New reference object to create PM Notification

Dear all,

We are in the process of streamline our PM module, in which one of the key aspect is cost tracking against Plant Section.

In current scenario, We are able to create notification against Functional Location, Equipment, Assembly. to track the cost, we want to create notification against Plant Section. Since Plant Section is not reference object. We are not able to create nor notification or PM order.

1) Is there any way to create new Reference object such as Plant Section, as it will be useful to track cost against Plant Section.

2) other option i am searching is that create notification against plant & keeping Plant Section & maint Plant as mandatory field. So is it possible to create notification against Plant. So i can track the plant section from Notification & cost against MO.

Feel free to share any suggestion on above query. Will be helpful.

Thanks & regards,

Deep Dave

Dear,

I got your point.May i know the hierarchical structure you built for functional location in your system?

If you have made the your section as one of your hierarchical structure in functional location structure  you can achieve it by creating order directly on that.

The best and simple way is have your cost centers as per your section and assign all the technical objects to that section cost centers, then you will get the cost report in CO and PM modules as per your requirement.

I think you can also get if you have section data in master data of all technical objects in "Location" tab. then you will get the data in standard PMIS reports like MCI3, MCI4.

Dear all,

Closing the thread. I have created dummy equipment against each section & done the enhancement based on equipment-notification type.

Dear all,

Thanks for your valuable inputs. I think i should create order via Functional Location, since specific cost centre will be available against every cost FL in 1:1 ratio.

As  i mentioned earlier we are process of Streamline PM process,

We wanted to create MO against Plant Section rather than creating MO of not individual equipment. Since dummy equipment is not giving us clear picture of cost expenditure.

Since there is no object field as Plant Section against which i can create order, Hence my initial req. was is it possible to add Plant Section as ref field.

Correct me if i wrong on following understanding,

Basic hierarchy will be Plant --> Plant Section --> Functional Loc --> Equipment.

I am able to collect cost of MO against Equipment. Which i have mapped with (Equipment <-> Pl. Section ), Now if i map ( Func.Location<-> plant sec ) & create specific order against FL. i will be able to transfer cost against Pl section.

I guess i have worked it out, any suggestion to make it better will be appreciated.

Regards,

Deep Dave.

The hierarchy shown by you is normally followed, but there is no hierarchical role a Plant Section plays in Plant structure. A simple answer to your requirement is, You Create one each Functional Location for all Plant Sections you have.  Means your Company level Functional location should start with a dummy Plant section named after Company itself and then start the real values of Plant sections for which one each Functional Location has to be created. Under the Plant Section level F/Locn hierarchy all sub-functional locations and equipments will have one value of Plant section.

Hi Deep,

Can you please provide the business requirement of what you are trying to do ?

Plant Section should be one among the functional location under your Hierarchy.

Functional location are created considering the plant first and then it is subdivided to reach the equipment level to identify the equipment which we are using in orders and notification.

Hi Deep,

Ideally speaking you should be using Technical Object (e.g. Equipment. FL Assembly etc) for capturing Cost.

if you want to have the cost Report for section please check in IW39 & plant section.

which I think will solve your problem or else you can creation Plant section as FL in system and Revisit you FL hierarchies structure to adjust the plant section in FL.
