Can we create a generic data source on a pooling table?

Hi Experts,

We have a requirement. We need to have a custom data source on TPRG(Pooling table).

I have got some details from SDN that we can create by the following two options.

1) Convert Pooling table to Transparent table, then create Generic data source

2) Based on Function Module to create data source and fetch data form pooling table.

Kindly suggest the best and appropriate option if any other.

Thanks & Regards,

Ravindra.

    Hi Ravi,

Please go with 2nd option - Function module based generic data source.

Why - Pool table we can't convert into transparent table. as its standard one. So better to go with 2nd option.

Take abap expert and create function module based generic data source.

    Thanks

    Hi Ravindra,

Go for Function module or Info set query based generic extractor.
