Navigation link is not working - copy ppm customizing again error - Project Management in SM 7.2

Hi All,

I am trying to configure Project Management in Solution Manager 7.2. However, I am getting the following error "navigation link is not working - copy ppm customizing again" in the "Check Prerequisite" step itself. I am unsure on how to resolve the issue. Request your assistance in resolving the issue.

With the help of a short dump I found today the missing entry!

Please refer to note 2315881 which contains the missing link.

With some debugging I have discovered that the prerequisite check looks for a launchpad entry DPR_DPO SCOPE DPO_ALL in IMG activity "Define Navigation Settings" V_INM_NAV_INF_W:

But I cannot find any hint in the Configuration Guide. There is a chapter on page 256 "Configuring Navigation", but it seems to me only for modifications or enhancements.

Any hint?

You need to open the IMG of this particular steps referring SAP note 2026421

stated as below from IMG help.

This activity checks the prerequisites for using SAP Portfolio and Project Management (SAP PPM) with the project management in SAP Solution Manager.

Prerequisites

You have completed the customizing of SAP PPM, which is described in the attachments to SAP Note 2026421.

Hi,

I have the same problem. I opened the attachment of the note 2026421 and found a monster configuration guide of 291 pages. Are we expected to work through this monster in order to start the solman_setup guided procedure? Sounds like a joke, but probably it is not.

Does somebody have a brief extract of the really needed PPM configuration steps for SolMan 7.2?

Btw. in my understanding such a "prerequisite" should be part of the Solman_setup guided procedure
