Hi Pramod,

Please share the error message that you get when you open configtool and click on that place.

Also, latest configtool*.trc file.

Does sidadm has full rights to /usr/sap file system ?

Try this

Choose Start - File -  Change System Template

Select from the option that you can.

Also do you have templates in

<SAP_install_dir>\<system_name>\<instance_name>\j2ee\configtool\templates

Have a look with SAP KBA   2016385 - How-to download Configtool / Visual Administrator

& best would to follow SAP Note   1131198 - Configtool does not show server nodes

Hope this will help you.

Good luck !!

Hi All,

Thanks for Your Suggestions.

@Manu, We will surely try the workaround provided by you , but first we need the Java stack to be up.

@Divyanshu, We downloaded the coretools from marketplace and followed the steps in note 2106385, but still no luck.

@Gaurav, We have tried both the Notes suggested by you but still our Config tool don't show the template Node.

Because of this reason Our Java stack is also down. Attaching Logs, may be it will help

Refer below KBA and make changes as suggested.

1924336 - Java node 'Instance_bootstrap' terminated with exit code 508

Hi Pramod ,

The alternative i suggested  is an alternative for the Config tool  . The tool mentioned is Config tool only in  command mode . It does not require Java to be up , only DB needs to be up  [ Like config tool ]

Try it ,

Thanks ,

Hi Divyanshu,

We checked and found that the instance ID is maintained correctly both in the profile as well as from the offlinecfgeditor.

Hi Pramod ,

Believe SAFE Mode is on in your system [ Have you checked as suggested in my first post ] . Can you turn it OFF .

If this is On this could be one reason why your java is not starting

Was the hostname of your server was changed recently ?

What were the changes you made recently in your system env ?

Try this -

Restart DB.

Goto configtool and verify the value element.clusterid

If safe mode is ON, then on one server process starts with some services stopped, but the systems does starts. Same happens when you apply SPs to java stack.

Agreed .

Java not starting may not be the result of the system being in SAFE Mode . But no issues with checking right? [ As it should not be ON ]

Recheck your configtool parameter and connection details.

Also, if all fine, then download CORETOOLS from SMP, replace the configtool that you get from CORETOOL with the one on your system and this one should work.

Hi

Check the connection parameters  . Choose No when you  start the config tool and you get the below screen

And the connection parameters in the following screen

But dont think this is the issue .

Have you turned on the SAFE mode in the config tool ?  File -> Safe Mode ?

Why is it that you want to enable SAP*  ? Is there any other issues we need to be aware of ?

Thanks ,

Download this file, decompress it and copy the cofigtool file from there.

Also, check config.properties, ConfigTool.log and system.log.

Hi Pramod ,

As a temporary Fix , [ To get around the main issue ie  to enable SAP* ]

On the same Directory/ Folder of Config tool . There should be Cosoleconfig.sh /bat . Run it

This is command driven but very easy to use .

[ if Config tool for dev or QAS is open  it will be handy ]

Thanks ,

Manu

If you cannot this, copy the configtool file from another working system of same release.

Check above file for parameter and make sure no errors are thrown in logs.

Hi Pramod,

From the screen it looks like not able to connect to DB. During starting of configtool did you get any error message popup?

Is your Java stack database schema user's password correctly maintained in the secure area.

Check the password from database & set the DB password in the secure area.
