How to delete a PO line item if PR qty more than PO qty

Dear MM Folks,

I have created PO with 5 line items w.r.to different PRs. for 4th PO line item-->PR having 5 qty but i made this quantity in PO as 14 qty and created a PO, for this 4th PO line item GR and IR also done.

Now PO 5th line item i want maintain deletion indicator for open quantities.

I am getting error message like Error in Line Item 00040 Entered Quantity is morethan PR Quantity( Open Quantity is - 9.000 )

How to do delete the PO line item give your advises and your help will be highly appreciated.

This is a home made error message, MM messages are not in message class 00 in case they are developed by SAP.

Talk to your team-mates and find out who had requested and created this validation, they may not have thought about about historic data and potential changes when they implemented this validation.

Post the 5th line item open quantity to scrap & then do flag for deletion. Try it if it resolves your issue.

Message no. 00 001 has been modified by your organization. You need to debug the process (with help of your ABAP team), only then you can know the causes (may be with resolution) for the error message.
