Hello,

In my landscape we are planning to increase the size of online redo log files. This system is connected to DR system. So, my question here is if I increase the size of online redo logs on primary database do I have to do the same in secondary immediately? or can I do  it later? Also do I have to change any configuration in oracle dataguard regarding the changes.

Regards,

RaJiTh R s

Hi Rajith,

I hope its not necessary you can do it immediately or later. online redlog switch will happen if the file become full, the secondary database will follow the same. its not mirroring your database. if its so then you have to  do it. for system copy you have to create as like source.  In online I believe not required.

Thanks,

BM

Hi RaJiTh,

No for db site it is not necessary, you can leave that later or do not touch the redo log any more.

online redo log will be archived/backup as long as it is full, so it does not depend on its size.

Best regards,

James
