Is it possible to change the service category in already created service master in AC02, if yes then is there any prerequisite for it?

Thanks

    Hi,

It is difficult to change Service category in service master. Because of following controls it has:

    1. Your valuation class gets determined by this service category.

    2. Your no. ranges are defined according to this service category.

First of all system will not allow you to change service category in service master AC02.

Impact of changing: Your no. range will be on toss for the services. and your valuation class?

Better to delete this service master and create new one with updated data. 1st check if this service is not used in any transaction then only delete it along with the transaction data.

Hope this solution clears your doubt.

    Regards,

    Priti

In standard the service category is not changeable, but it is possible to make it changeable, a possible workaround would be the usage of enhancement spot ES_SAPLBAS0, enhancement point LBAS0O06_02 or 04 or a direct modification at the provided coding to change SCREEN-INPUT to 1 if you are in change mode and the SCREEN-NAME is ASMD-ASTYP.

    Dear,

    Its not.

I suggest not to change service category.Because just like "Material Group in material master" this helps to bifurcate the services based on their utilization in Plant engineering.
