Management tool for MaxDB instance in HCP

Hi!

Is there a tool I can use to manage a MaxDB instance residing in HCP? I am looking for a tool or set of tools that will allow us to do the following:

* View the schema - tables, rules, data.

* Make changes to the schema - add/delete/modify tables, rules or data.

Hi Christine,

Welcome to SCN and HCP!

You can use any DB tool that supports e.g. JDBC connectivity. One option is Eclipse DTP. Please refer to:

Hi Vlado,

I apologize for the very late reply. Unfortunately, opening a db tunnel was not reliable at the time we tried it. Sometimes we get the connection but most of the time it fails.

As another solution, I tried looking for a java webapp which I can deploy on HCP and that would act as our SQL client. I found RiverSql.  Midway through my tinkering with the setup of the said app, the team decided to just move to Hana. Eclipse DTP works well with Hana DB.

Actually, for HANA there's an even more straightforward/dedicated way of doing it than DTP. Feel free to check out my blog post .
