Batch determination available quantity in Process Order Confirmation

Former Member

Dear Guru's,

When doing the goods movement in the process confirmation (CORK) and using batch determination I can see the available stock.
However, in the material master the availability check is set to "ZZ" which means "no availability check".

How can it be that I see the available stock in the batch determination of the process confirmation when availibility check is turned off?

Even if I put the availability check to "KP - No Check" it shows me the quantities...

I am asking this because when using batch determination in the delivery, I get infinite quantity because of the availability check being turned off. When I change the availability check to "CH - Batches", then I am able to see the right quantities but I am not able to create Process Orders and Sales Orders if stock is not there (client requires that they need to do it even if stock is not there).

Hello Marco,

For a confirmation, the batches used are already known because they were already processed for the order. NO availability check is supported during confirmation In Customizing for the availability check (transaction OMCP), the system does not propose any confirmation transactions like CORK under 'Transactions', therefore no checking rule can be assigned.

This means that the system always displays all free batches .

Refer OSS note 619911 - FAQ: Batch determination.

Also note determination of Availability check with the combination of Availability checking rule + Checking group OPJJ in which check whether "Check w/o RLT" indicator has marked.

Items for which the delivery date falls within the replenishment lead time, but for which there is no inventory, are confirmed for delivery after the replenishment lead time. In the case of items for which the delivery date falls after the end of the replenishment lead time, the system assumes that everything can be confirmed.

Hi R.Brahmankar,

Thanks for your reply.

During the process order, batches are not filled out.

So basically the system will always display correct stock levels during batch determination in CORK (when doing goods movement) without using an availability check?

Is there any way the system can show correct stock levels during batch determination in a delivery without enabling the availability check in the material master?
Now, the materials are assigned to checking group "ZZ - no availability check" and have no settings in OPJJ.

Hello Maro,

This is as per the standard SAP system design, system will display the bathes with the current stock and post the good movements accordingly.

If atp check is deactivated then the requested quantity will be confirmed without having available stock.

If the atp check is carried out with considering the Replenishment Lead Time then the system will confirm the requested quantity after the end of the replenishment lead time without having available quantity. Please refer

1.1 Customizing of the Availability Check - ERP SD - SCN Wiki

If you are working with batch splits in deliveries and ATP check confirms the batch item despite of having any available quantity.

Availability check in the delivery is controlled by the setting for the field 'AvailCkOff' in the customizing transaction 0VLP (Delivery item categories). For batch split items an item category can be determined that deviate from the item category of the delivery item.

Please check the item category for the batch split item in the customizing transaction 0VLP whether the availability check is activated or not.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

In transaction 0VLP the availability check is not activated and I want to leave it like that.
The only thing I want is when I am using batch determination in a batch split in a delivery, I want to see the real stock in the available quantity field instead of 9.999.999 without having to activate availability check on material level.

Is this possible?

Maro

Hello Maro,

This is not possible in standard SAP without availability check for batches.

Also for more information on it please refer OSS note 619911

Why do batches have an infinite available quantity (9 999 999 999) on the selection screen of batch determination?

Answer

It is a 'normal' system behavior when the availability is checked with the replenishment lead time and when the requirement date of the material falls after the end of the replenishment lead time. You cannot set the availability so that the system checks with the replenishment lead time at material level but without the replenishment lead time at batch level. For materials that are subject to batch management requirements, check the availability without including the replenishment lead time.
