Problem creating a Work Approval from IW32

Dear colleagues,

I can create a Work Approval from WSR8 with a reference to the PM order, but that does not link my Work Approval to the PM order.

It should be possible to create Work Approval directly in IW32, but there is no such option on the screen.

What customizing should I check?

Hi Paulo,

This is configuration issue.Please check WCVOR7 Table and uncheck Do Not Display.this will link WA to your IW32.

Hi Swapnil,

WCM for the order is activated with a Permit and it is also activated with an Operation with WCM control key.  I have tried both, but result is still the same, no WCM linking buttons show up on the IW32 screen.

Hi Paulo,

I think you need to activate the below Business Function.Please check if this is exist or not.This is what I have done in sandbox and its working fine for me.I am not much more aware of it.

Between what is WSR8 and what are you trying to achieving it.

Have you Activated Work Approval for maintenance orders?

Plant Maintenance - Work Clearance Management - Approval - Activate WCM for maintenance orders.

Here you need to maintain permit relevant for WCM ?

I am following the scenario from the BP 888 document.

After creating a Work Order with assigned Permit I got a system status WCM and want to create a WAP from IW32.

The setting is like this:

YU_WCM

Work Clearance Permit

WA

1

WC Application

Can it be that fields/tabs are hidden for the Order Type even though WCM is active?

Hi Paulo,

Are you able to get the link in the work order ?

If you have the permit assigned to Work Order in IW31 or IW32 manually, else you can maintain the permit for the Technical Object (Functional Location or Equipment)

Did you clicked the WAP link in the maintenance order

Hi Paulo,

The link is based on the setting you make in the approval configuration.

You should have created Permits - When you assign these permits in Plant Maintenance - Work Clearance Management - Approval - Activate WCM for maintenance orders.

When this permit is assigned to Work Order, this will make the link available in the work order. The button will be available in the status bar...

Just check below, what was the setting made in your system

Work Clearance Management - Master Data - Architecture - Do Not Display Dialog Box for Assignments

Check whether you have hidden the dialogue box.

SAP Help : If you work with work permits, we recommend that you hide the dialog box for assigning work approvals.

Define Descriptions

Define Direct Processing Mode

Define Relations

Hi Maria,

your advice was absolutely correct. ;o) This setting  is the recommened setting for WPM. The IMG activity is hidden because the corresponding business function is not activated. Thererfore Paulo cannot correct the settting.

If you call transaction SIMGH than you maintain the IMG by ignoring the switches. Than it is possible to correct the settings.
