Limiting users from selecting tables in Query Generator

Hi Experts,

Is there a way where we can limit the users from selecting OJDT, JDT1, OACT and other related financial tables in Query Generator?

I am afraid they might be able to see some confidential matters if we give them access to Query Generator...

Please advise and thank you in advance.

Regards,

Arlene

    Hi Arlene,

Theoretically, even though the user would use a financials table in their query, accounts that are set as confidential would not be shown to users that do not have the right to see them.

However, the query generator is a very powerful tool, and a user with enough knowledge of sql, can get at all data.

As such AKR is correct, you should restrict the use of the query generator to trusted personnel.

As queries can be saved, and grouped with access rights to different groups, and result sets can be exported to Excel for further manipulation, it should not be necessary to give all users access to the query generator.

    regards,

    Johan

    Hi Arlene,

Please make No Authorization to Query Generator for those users whom you don't want then to use Query Generator from below path.

Administration >>>> System Initialization >>>> Authorization >>>> General Authorization >>> Select User from Left >>>> Report >>>> Query Generator

After applying authorization , ask user to login and log-out for Authorization effect.

    Hope this helps 😊
