AO 1.4 SP11 - Query Designer does not open

Hello Community,

we are currently using AO 1.4 SP11 with SAP GUI 7.30. AO is used with BIP and Netweaver.

Now we are testing the upgrade to SAP GUI 7.40 and on different clients it is not possible to start the Query Designer from AO. But this does only happen with Netweaver connections.

Steps to reproduce

AO 1.4 SP11 / SAP GUI 7.40 PL2

Netweaver

1. Open AO and connect to Netweaver system

2. Insert a query and try to open the Query Designer -> Nothing happens (No error message even in the debugging log)

BIP

1. Open AO and connect to BIP

2. Insert a query and start the query designer -> Works as expected

saplogon.ini is correctly configured. When we uninstall SAP GUI 7.40 then everything works as expected. Issues does also occur with AO 2.0 FP2.

Do you have any ideas?

Just FYI: It was solved by an SAP Incident. This is a bug and will be solved with AO 1.4 SP13 and a SAP Note 2178327 which needs to be applied to SAP BW.

The "Open Query Designer" is visible and does work when coming from BIP, but not with Netweaver.

So the solution from the other post does not help.

I'm curious - did the Business Explorer for 740?  I am on PL1 740 without issues for AO 2.0 patch 2

Is the Query Designer ribbon greyed out or you cannot access?
