Hi,
We have configured a test alert category in ALRTCATDEF and configured it in /AIF/CUST for a particular Namespace and Interface in the Namespace Specific Attributes -> Configure Alerts. When we try to post a message for the first time, we get an alert and can find an entry in the table /AIF/ALERTS with an unique alert ID. But, when we try post another message (IDOC) for the same interface and namespace, we do not get an alert and do not see alert ID getting generated in the table /AIF/ALERTS. The alert category has been configured as 255 for maximum no of alerts to be delivered.
We followed this thread : http://scn.sap.com/thread/3575872
Also, when we delete the entries in the table /AIF/ALERTS, we are able to generate one alert and after that no more alerts are getting generated. Please let us know, what are we missing here.
Hi Prabhuraj,
in /AIF/ALERTS you can see all alerts that are active. Once you confirm an alert in ifmon, the entry will be deleted automatically from the table. If you don't confirm the alert for one interface and you send data which should cause an alert, then the ALERTID in the table /AIF/ALERTS remains constant and you don't receive an email.
If you want to get an email for each error you have to go in ifmon, category "Mail" and change the status for the desired interface to "Mail for Every Single Error". Once you have an error the ALERTID in the table /AIF/ALERTS will be incremented for that interface and you will receive an email.
Otherwise you have to confirm the alert in ifmon and then you can get another alert.

Ionut Scirlet

Hi Em,
please have a look at this: http://scn.sap.com/thread/3916042
Check the AIF version and support package that you use. If you are still using AIF701, note 2012945 should help
Best regards,
Verena
