While copying report between clients, I lost the variants while copying. Is there any backup for the variants?
Hi Vinod,
You can use the program RSVARIVALCLI for copying the variants between the clients. There is another alternate way defined in the URL below
Check if your source program is active, if it is inactive you will not see variants.
Hope this helps.

You would have forgot to check the variants checkbox while copying ..so try to copy the file again into some new destination...

I am slightly consfused. So you had a program A and variant X. You copied variant X to which variant? You mentioned renaming the program. So you renamed program A to B. If you noticed, while renaming, the system actually deletes the old program and recreates with the new name. So I am afraid you may have lost the variants permenantly. Butlet us try something. Copy(not rename) program B back to program A and see if you see the variants.
Please be specific on your steps . Seems you have not mentioned exactly what you did .
If you rename a program A to B all the variants of A are copied to B. So variants will be available.
But if you copy program A to B ( you get the option whether to copy variant or not ) and if you dont choose to copy variant then there is no way to retrive the lost variant .
Cheers.
Sanjay
