InfoView is opening very slow in SAP BO Enterprise XI product 12.1.0

Hi All,

We have users complaining that the home page of InfoView opens very slow (sometimes it takes around 2 to 3 mts) and after that logging in takes another 30 seconds or so. The Document List structure takes around 1 mt or so. This slowness happens mostly during the first runs of the user, and the subsequent runs immediately render the reports faster. Seems like Caching is happening here and also when there is no activity for 15 to 20 mts time, again the slowness happens, which may be related to timeouts.

Can someone please guide me on the steps that we should take in order to make the response time faster like any server side checks we need to have etc.,

We use the version of SAP BO Enterprise XI product 12.1.0;

Thanks for your time.

    Hello,

    You need to figure out about network latency / system resources / application server capability.

    Moreover check if there is any Load balancer on top of Application server and if there is, try bypassing it.

    If you use the Application server of any other environment and login to the same CMS, do you still see the same slowdown? If not, it's probably something with your Application server. If so, the App server is probably fine and you'll need to look into the CMS and other areas...

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks,

    Imran

      Thanks very much for the detailed response.

      I have noted down these recommendations, we are working on each of the recommendations to see, if they can improve performance. I will keep you posted on this.

    Hi Indu,

    I discovered that it works perfect when i open infoview on the local server!

    Do you experience the same?

      Hi,

      We had issues in slow performance for users who are situated overseas from our location. We made changes based on several recommendations and also asked users to try to connect to InfoView just 5 mts before the actual report generation, so the session doesn't get timeout and the Windows AD credentials is in place (no login screen to be shown again), also in our case we asked users to try to run infoview via citrix.

      We are doing a series of tests this week and we will be able to confirm, after getting full feedback from users on this, whether there has been any improvement or not;

      Regarding, connecting to InfoView from the server box is very fast and it will open in seconds;

      Thanks.
