I have 3.5 years of Java experience. Now I am planning to move to SAP PI domain. I will be in support for first 6 months and then will be moved to development. I have few queries.
1) Will this be a good move?
2) Future prospects SAP PI
3) After 2 years will my past java experience be considered?
HI Shaharyar,
1) Will this be a good move?
From my opinion is a good move. But you should think that PI is more than java programming.
2) Future prospects SAP PI
From now SAP PI is an excellent integration tool, SAP does upgrades and enhancements continuously. I think this tool can have more years of life. But I don't know the future
3) After 2 years will my past java experience be considered?
Java experience is considered, but also if you know more about different SAP tools and SAP specific interfaces, ABAP programming, SOA architecture and so on. I only want to say that to know java is important but the java knowledge necessary is the basic one for the 90% of the scenarios that you will develop.
