Dear Colleagues,
We are running Solman based on 7.1 SP12 and we use Charm. Personally I am not the biggest Charm fan in the world as it is - at least from my perspective - quite complex. QGM looks a lot simpler. Is it possible to use QGM without Charm? What would I lose? In my understanding I still have the whole approval process in QGM.
Thanks for the answer
Alexander
Hi,
You can still use QGM without ChaRM. I fact, QGM serves a whole different purpose than ChaRM. In QGM you do not have individual approval for request for change. In QGM the bundle of request for change would be moved to subsequent systems after the Q Gate is approved. Hence in QGM approval is controlled at Q gate level not at individual change request level.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Vivek
