Material type change

Hi,

I am trying to change a material type from Process material to unvaluated material but SAP is not allowing me make this change

it throws error "unlike the new material type old material type is only allowed for process material"

could anybody help me!!!

In the material type attributes is an indicator

• Material for process

This indicator has to be equal in both material types if you want use MMAM.

It doesn't seems a standard SAP message. Either you have modified this error message's text in this thread or this is a custom message.

Please post the exact error message text and error message number.

Yes. I've just noticed. Check the indicator of 'Material f. process' in OMS2 for both material type. It has to be same. Read the link suggested by Mr. Jurgen.

Dear ,

As you said, you are changing valuated material type to non valuated material type.

System will not allow you to change, if you have QM views activated.

and also check

If you have purchase data on that material while changing material type using transaction MMAM system will give an error message with details of all Purchase documents.

Are you getting this error too?

Hi Arihant,

The configuration of both the material types should be same for change the material type.

Please check configuration of both material type. (T-code OMS2).
