Team,

We have a scenario where in we have upgraded our SRM system from 5.0 to 7.03. We have a Portal 7.0 on which the Business Package for SRM id deployed.

Now our issue is when we are trying to configure and test the services in sicf, we are getting the following error.

FPM application /SAPSRM/WDA_E_FPM_OIF was started without configuration

Can anyone help me on this.

Thanks and regards,

Brijesh

Dear Brijesh,

Open the component FPM_OIF_COMPONENT. Find your application under Web dynpro Application /SAPSRM/WDA_E_FPM_OIF.

Expand your application then you will come to know the application configuration against that Application. Right click on the App Configuration and Test it.

Thanks

Thanks a lot Christian and Nishant. I have a better picture now. Now when I try to 'test' any of  the application configurations of the application /sapsrm/wda_l_fpm_oif, the browser opens and just vanishes. Please let me know if you have info on this

Hello Brijesh,

this is a "special feature" of this SRM application. This application can only be run in portal (and maybe in NWBC - I don't know) but not in browser stand-alone. If they detect that the application is run stand-alone they simply close the application.

If you need further information regarding this behaviour you should try out the SRM section and forums here in SCN.

Best regards,

Dear Brijesh,

I want to add one more point that some application are needs some parameters, please check if your application has come parameters and if you pass the values to that parameters, it may work.

Thanks

Hi Nishant, thank you for the info. Since it is a standard component, do you know access key which object would I need so that I can add parameters to Application configuration?

Dear Brijesh,

I am not talking about to add any application parameter. I am just saying if you pass the value to the existing parameters it might works.

Hi,

It is very clear that you're trying to execute component configuration instead of application configuration and hence you're facing that issue which you've stated above.

Try to use application configuration which will resolve you're issue.

Thanks

Hi Katrice, thank you and in fact I have done no settings change of 'Component configuration' or 'Application configuration' from SE80. All I did was to activate the services from sicf. Since it is a standard package am I supposed to do any configuration editing from SE80? If yes, do we have the steps? Thanks in advance

Hello,

please have a look at note 1570620. FPM applications are configured applications, they need always an application configuration to run. When trying to launch an FPM application from SICF there is no application configuration provided. Therefore only applications with a default application configuration can be started from SICF. A Default application configuration is either an application configuration having the same name as the application, or an application configuration which is provided as parameter of the application.

/SAPSRM/WDA_E_FPM_OIF doesn't have such a default configuration, therefore you can't start the application from SICF.

Best regards,

Christian
