Hi All,
kindly suggest procedure to establish the interface between the TAS(terminal Automation System) and SAP in SAP SD delivery processing.
i am furnishing details below
terminal Automation System is third party software(legacy) which is used in loading of Hydrocarbons in Truck Tanker,it will capture the details like
we require the loaded quantity which is loaded into Truck tanker using the TAS(terminal Automation System) as picked quantity in SAP SD delivery process automatically.
thanks in Advance
Sai,
We use a custom built solution for this. TAS sends the rack lifting details from different terminals in txt format. PI picks it up and places it in one of the locations. From there SAP job runs to pick up that file and create sales orders and deliveries. The programs that are run in the background use BDC to create the sales orders and deliveries and we use the volume coming in from the file to load it on to Sales open order quantity field and also to QCI (Gross and Net qty).
You need to get the file, map all the values into SAP values as needed (customer/material/volume) and then use the programs to create the sales orders.
Hope this gives you a fair idea of how it can be done.
Regards,
Mukund S

For that you need to discuss with your technical team and go with IDOC functionality. That third party vendor has to send a file containing the shipment informations as you listed, in an XML or text file to SAP. SAP would in turn, validate these data and generate delivery.

has already been kind enough to provide you with some directions. The rest is your job, which you are likely getting paid to do. We can answer specific questions but expecting a full detailed solution on SCN is a bit unreasonable, don't you think?
You might want to clarify your design ideas - I'm not sure what's the connection between the IDoc suggestion and "staging table" question.
