Characteristic value description length

Hi Experts,

I am new to Classification and I need to define some customized fields in PM Module and we intend to address this through the classification in SAP under Class Type 002 (Equipment Class).

When creating Characteristic, in data type  CHAR, some of my Characteristic value descriptions are too lengthy ( 45 )

How to expand the description length in below screen

the maximum is 30.

You can maybe use the documentation for the value to store more info:

Is it possible to display this documentation field in the front end when we assign Characteristics to equipment in t-code IE02?

in the standard I do not think so. Maybe with custom development.

In this case,kindly configure the Equipment view screens as shown

Use sequence no:097" for class and characteristics to display  in "General" tab.
