Hi can anyone tell me what are CS/SM/PM notifications in SAP, or may be in SD sales and distribution module.

Hi,

PM notification is intimation of a problem to SAP R3 ,raised either by a production person or Maintenance person.

I am explaining what I understood. If at all I am woring, somebody please correct me.

Once a material/equipment is sold, the SD part is over. If the customer has any problems with the material/equipment, then he calls the 'CALL CENTER' and thats where a NOTIFICATION is raised. NOTIFICATION is the starting point of SERVICE MANAGEMENT. The NOTIFICATION is a document which contains the following details:

1. The customer, material/equipment details.

2. Warranties/Contracts associated with the equipment.

3. <b>Causes </b>of the problem, <b>activities </b>that are performed to rectify the problem and the <b>Tasks </b>that have to performed.

The 'Call Center' people just document the problem(and its details) and raise the NOTIFICATION. A technician then reveiws the notification and creates a service order, if necessary.

This process is used to a raise a range of returns and demand on service hubs. These are

Repair and return to customer , this may not be under warrantee.

Service Exchange ( a sale of one product linked to return of another) This may or not be under wanrantee.

Warantee return only with credit.

Commercial return with credit.

Return only.

Identify the customer and prodcut to be returned

Create Notification [IW51]

create a service Request

create a return transaction IW52 change.

create return order

create return deliver.
