SAP QM Inprocess Inspection for a specific Process order type

Dear All,

There is a requirement. As no QM type is maintained for FG material in a plant. Now the requirement is there is a specific order type for which Inprocess Inspection  is to be activated for all the FG materials. But at the same tie for all other order types there won't be any inspection for the same set of FG material.

I tried creation Z03 by copying  03 inspection type. But the problem is source inspection is from Production. So Z03 is not confined to only the specific process order but instead it is generating inspection lot for other Process order also.

Is it possible to create a scenario where we can attach inprocess inspection to a specific order type only.

Hi,

You can assign the in process inspection to Order type in SPRO as shown below in the process order type dependent parameters in Planning tab in COR4.

Check and revert..

I have tried the same through SPRO. But the problem is it is ok and no inspection lot is getting generated for other production orders. But at the same time no inspection lot is getting generated for the specific order type also as inspection type is not maintained at the Material Master level.

Hello Rahul,

In order to generate inspection lot for production order, you need to maintain inspection type 03 (or 04 if you need to have the inspection lot after confirmation) at the material master QM view. This is a pre-requisite. Then the system will generate inspection lot for configured order types.

Hi Rahul, I don't see this is feasible in standard! You need to develop and apply some custom logic specifying conditions for order types using exit that governs the control on inspection lot generation. You can explore exit QPL10001 or QAAT0001 with ABAP.
