Windchill SAP Interface - tips?

Hello, our PDM is Windchill and we are currently implementing SAP ECC5.0 (+ XI+...).

We want to exchange Material and Manufacturing BOM from Windchill to SAP ECC5.

We heard about CAD Interface . Does someone know how to do thru XI? Should we provide a Webservice via a proxy to encapsulate the functions of CAD? In this case which functions?

Or perhaps another connector could be used.
