Copy CRM accounts data to other CRM system

Hi All,

We are having a project to connect and configure the data exchange between ERP and CRM. Because we want try it first, we installed new ERP and CRM systems in our test environment. One requirement is that we want to move the accounts and contacts previously put in the old CRM system to the new one. We planned to perform the configuration of data exchange between CRM and ERP first, then transfer the accounts and contacts later. Do you have any suggestion how should we proceed with the scenario?

Also, since CRM data migration is new to me, I don't know how should we copy the accounts and contacts (as well as other transactional data) from one CRM system to another. What is the recommended way to do it?

Hi Duy,

If you want to transfer the account data between CRM systems, XIF adapter can be used to achieve this.

Alternatively, if the new CRM system has the same release, support package level, customizing and coding as the old CRM system, you can also do client copy from the old CRM client to the new test CRM client by tcode SCC9. Then all the data from the source client can be copied to target client, including the accounts data. But this will require many steps and configuration.

I would suggest using XIF adapter if you only want to migrate accounts and contacts data.

Secondly, regarding how to copy data from one CRM to another CRM system, you could use Client Copy to achieve this. Since there is no Best Practices document for performing client copy within CRM landscape, please read the FAQ note for more information.

Thanks for your reply. When considering about client copy, it seems that, in client copy method, it's not possible if I want to transfer the master data only, without any transactional data. Because of the data exchange between ERP and CRM, I think we should only copy the master data.

I read some SCN discussion threads and realized that it is possible to transfer only the master data using ALE IDoc's method. I'm don't know how to achieve this. Do you have any insight regarding this method? or do you know other methods to copy only CRM master data?
