PowerBuilder 11.5 Download

Former Member

Does anyone know where the prior version downloads are located?  I have a valid PB 11.5 license but can't find the download for the life of me. I am able to check-in and re-generate my license key but it appears Sybase took the download files down and finding something on the SAP site is about as intuitive as finding the Higgs Bison Particle without an education in physics. Thanks in advance for pointing me in the right direction.

Somehow I have a feeling that my PB 11, 11.1, 11.5 licenses are gone because I don't have the ISO's. It killed me to move on from PowerBuilder (to NetSuite and .NET) but when I come back to PB I realize that Sybase ruined PB, and SAP drove the final nail in the coffin. Frustrating to say the least. My manager wants to buy a copy of PB but he doesn't trust SAP because of the challenge finding someone who sells a license and those who had ability to sell PB revoked. Something about Fortune 500 (or similar size foreign companies) they are about as worthless as Government. </ rant >

Shenn, you are a saint. Thank you SO much. If I can do anything to help you let me know.

Shenn, I have an NFR license for PB 11 & 11.5 and only need one of them so if you need one I would gladly check in my license and give it to you for providing the installation media. Assuming you have the install media for PB11 also. Thanks again. Rich

I already have 2 licenses for PB 6.5 - 12.6...so I'm good.  I used to keep all the installation files stored on a network drive from PB 6.5 on up, but 2 years ago I deleted everything before PB 11.5.

Glad I could help.

They are still downloading... should be done in about 10 min... not sure if you keep them public or not.

If anyone else wants my PB11.1 NFR License let me know. I don't have the install media but I can check my key in and generate one for anyone that could benefit from it. The PB community has been good to me so I am happy to return.

I uploaded the files to my Google Drive so you could access them.  Anyone can access them if they use the link I posted.  I will keep the link active for some time as there may be other people who need the files.  Not sure if SAP approves of this or not, but I don't see an issue with it.  I know they can't legally provide the files anymore, but that legal restriction shouldn't apply to me that I know of.  Someone would still need a license file for the installation files to be any use to them.

I wouldn't think it be illegal as the license has already been paid for like you said. To be 100% sure I'll delete any Telerik files on install - don't need them anyway. I think Telerik would be smarter than to sue a developer over a good (and legal) deed, I think a few developers would stop doing business with them.

I really do miss the PB community even though I come across angry with SAP (I am) -- I'm like a bitter EX that didn't want a divorce. I miss my PB, the best development tool for business apps (client server) and impressive when used with Appeon as well.

IF the future looked more solid for PB I would feel more comfortable selling my boss on it. I'm sure he would purchase at least a half-dozen licenses if I showed him what can be done. He's not overly impressed with Microsoft .NET (base)

Actually you are legal if you use them. Sybase (and now SAP) has not the right to distribute them...

Anyone still have PowerBuilder 10 media?

Hoping for a miracle!

Thank you!

I have PB10 install images. I actually have 4 thru 12.5. PB6.5 seems to work fine on Windows 10. I have PB4 & PB5 installed on a Windows XP VM.

Hi Roland, do you still have an installer of PB 9? We lost our installer and I can't seem to download the previous versions on the powerbuilder website. Good thing I came across this community. So helpful. Thank you!

Hi Shenn,

I am with PB12.5 now but I need PB11.5 for pbl changes on the apllication.

Can you provide me the download link? As I cannot see some of the message which has been hidden by a moderator.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Yow;

   FYI: After SAP took over from Sybase and then published PB 12.5.2. - they removed all the other older PB version download links from the Sybase website. Then never added these back to the SAP website either.

Hi Yow,

I can't provide it on these forums as the moderators will remove it.  Send me an email and I will provide you the link.

Hi.

It's not true that powerbuilder isn't available. If you have a support contract for powerbuilder then it's available to download in support.sap.com.

Hi Andreas;

  SAP should be ashamed of themselves. Why would a person or company have to buy a support contract to get back something that they already own and have a license for? IMHO that's really stealing from your customers and should be a criminal offense.

  Also, why would one buy a support contract to even get access to newer PB releases as SAP advertises, when SAP are not even working on the product?

  Personally, i think SAP should give a refund to everyone who has paid for a support contract and make PB 12.6 a free - no strings attached - upgrade. Otherwise, they are no better than the corrupt VW company. A public appology wouldn't hurt either IMHO.

Hi Rich;

  If you read your ISUG terms of agreement, the NFR is no transferable and tied to your "active" membership.

Hi Chris.

I agree with you. But I'm not sure if that was a Sybase or a SAP decision. I remind you that older versions (including prior than 11) were not available for download after a specific time due to a change with some database driver licensing.

You need an account.

Hi Rene.

Do you have access there? Did you read the notice bellow the login button? It says:

This site no longer contains software images to download. It exists solely for the purposes of creating license files for existing software licenses for those licenses not covered by a current support agreement. All licenses covered by a support agreement can be found at the SAP Service Marketplace.

Based on that I'm not sure if the installation medias are available there.

Hi Andreas,

you are right. I'm sorry.

The main think is that Rich is right, there is no way to access older versions than pb 12.0...

I think that only 12.5.2 and above are available. SAP didn't renew the contract with Telerik for the treeview control in the web target so they are not legally allowed to distribute versions containing it.

FWIW: That is my understanding as well.

No. PB 12.1 is available

Of course I believe it's not the same as the original (Webform might be missing).

Also maintenance to 12.1 and the last two ebfs's are available.

Thank you for the info. Disappointing but I can understand the dilemma. I have a legal copy of PB10.5 which doesn't use Sysam but the install disk PowerBuilder105 folder on disc (most files) are unreadable. I should have backed it up. If it weren't for Shenn I wouldn't have a working copy of PB.

No worries. I thought everything was fine when I logged into my Subscribenet account but couldn't find the download button for the life of me. Some products have a download button but nothing happens (e.g. the .NET datawindow) when viewing it on one of the tabs.

EBF 18315 is the upgrade to 12.1

<QUOTE doc=EBF18315_README.txt>

To install PowerBuilder 12.1, you must have already installed version 12.0 of PowerBuilder on your computer.

I have had that same experience depending on the browser used. Usually the culprit was Internet Explorer. I would pastes the link into Chrome and the buttons would show up.
