Extracting Data from Different Source System

Former Member

Hi,

We have a data source in BW which is pointing to Source System in QA Environment SCQ. We stopped using source system SCQ long back as we are moving away from SAP.

Now I would like to point the same data source in BW QA system to pull the data from Production.

How can I do that other than creating the new source source system in BQ QA system.

Please help.

Regards

DataSources are linked to source systems, so if you want to use a DataSource from a different source system, you have to replicate it from that source system and build your data flow on top of it.

Thanks for the reply.

This is my scenario.

I want to test the new logic moved to BWQ(QA) with Prod Data. We dont have good data in ECC QA, so we are not able to test.

We have

ECC Source System ERP1 (Prod)

BW System BWP (Prod)

ECC Source System ERQ1 (QA)

BW System BWQ (QA)

I need to extract data to BWQ from ERP1, this connection is not available right now.

How do I do this without creating the new flow, without establishing the connection between BWQ and ERP1.

Note: I can use the data from SAP BW Prod i.e BWP.

So, for me, copying the data from ERP1 or BWP is fine.

Option considered:

Can I copy data from BWP (Prod) PSA table to BWQ (QA) PSA tables and run the Info Packages. Is this Possible? I think when we run the DTP it looks for Req ID and I will not be able to do so. So this Option is ruled out.

Copy Active table data from Prod to BWQ. This option is ruled out as there is logic change in BWQ and BWP.

Can you please suggest any other options.

Hope this clarifies.
