Hi,

We are using TM 9.1 and there is a scenario where once the vessel has sailed from the port , business requirement is that ship to party and locations may change during the course of sailing.As we know that the freight booking based on locations and business partners are confirmed and there should be no change for those above parameters but there is an exception to this here. Kindly advise if you ahve encountered such scenarios

Yes. This is called in-transit resale. When the goods are in transit, a resale happens and there is requirement to change the destination. There is no standard way to design this. It all depends upon the business requirement and the capability of carriers to incorporate these changes. Moreover documentation and legal requirements need to be taken care off. Once the shipment is completed, the freight settlement will also be carried out separately. Once possible solution is to reverse all documents and re-create all again. But this has its own limitations.

In case the in transit sale happens then is there any possible by custom development to achieve this functionality

Ofcourse custom development can achieve this. It all depends on the requirement and capability of carriers.

Another way [if reversing the documents is not a feasible option] is to use one-time location. Once you activate the number range for this in TM SPRO, then you can manually change the address in transportation stage of FO/FB. This will create a new location as the FO location number gets updates. But please keep in mind the settlement and links to other processes.
