Recurring deduction effected during offcycle payroll run

Dear experts,

I understand that when we maintain a wagetype in IT0014, the recurring payment/deduction occurs in regular payroll run. This is a standard system behavior.

Now, what if I want to a specific wagetype to be maintained in IT14 but the recurring payment/deduction occurs in offcycle payroll run. Is this possible ? (Perhaps via PCR/schema adjustment?)

Advice appreciated!

Hi Shruti,

Your input was helpful. I was looking for a solution where I can "marry" the recurring payment behavior of IT14 and define the payment period as off cycle. I have a user request arising from legal requirements for such a scenario. As you mentioned, it looks like the only option available to users is to create a record separately every month in IT267 & changing the "Payment date" field accordingly.

Jagan,

I get your point ie: cannot use IT14/IT15 for offcycle. So I am turning my question around and asking can I use IT267 to trigger recurring payments ? Thanks.

Hi Melissa

Whether an infotype can be used for recurring payements/deductions or not is quite simple to understand if you look at the structure of the infotype and the input it accepts.

If you see IT0014, it has a start and an end date as input which means you can specify an amount which would be paid/deducted every month over that period of time. So if I give the start and end date as 01.01.2015 to 31.12.2015 it means that the amount would be considered in the payroll run in every month of 2015 thereby making it a "recurring" payment/deduction.

Now if you see IT0015 and IT0267, these do not have a start and an end date. IT0015 only has one date named as "date of origin" and IT0267 also has only one date named "payment date". Thus if you have to make a payment using these infotypes, it will be a one time payment. To use these infotypes for payment every month, you will need to create a record separately for every month changing the dates accrodingly. Unlike IT0014, creating only one single record would not suffice to make the payment every month using these. And thats the reason they cannot be used for recurring payments.

Hope that answers your queries.

Thanks Jagan

Then my question will be if IT267 is to input additional payments in off cycle payroll run, can it be made to input recurring payments? ie: the same payment is to be made at off-cycle payroll run.

Melissa,

Please see my updated response above.  IT 14 or 15 should not be used

In off cycle payroll run

1. Only IT 267 should be used for any additional payments - e.g., bonus.

2. A number functions and infotypes should be skipped using IF      SPRN:

2.1 infotypes such as IT 14, 15,

2.2 Functions such as Time wage types processing, prorating, deduction priority processing, etc
