Hi,
In EM we have the new tracking scenario-Transportation Unit tracking. Do we use this scenario to do the new resource tracking like rail scenarios
Hi Dipak,
how and if this scenario is used has to be decided in the project. If you use transportation units in your planning (e.g. for single rail cars or multiple rail cars which have the same route), you can track them via the corresponding application object type ODT30_TU. But you can, of course, also use ODT30_TO to track your rail freight order. Both scenarios are NOT resource tracking scenarios - they can be used to track the corresponding freight documents (transportation units or freight order). If you want to track a physical resource over its entire lifecycle, you should use the generic resource tracking scenario. Of course, all the scenarios can be use din parallel.

Hi,
in the standard content some integration tracking scenarios are provided for transportation order tracking (Application object type in TM respectively EH Types in EM with names ODT*) and there is one AO Type/ EH Type calles RES30_RESOURCE, which can be used for resource tracking.
Please see the details:
ODT*: http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-33550
RES30_RESOURCE: http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-49069

Hi,
the standard user profile RES30_RESOURCE which is available in SAP EM for this scenario already provides the requested selection fields:
Actual location can be used to select on system parameter RES30_ACT_LOC, which should hold the last location which has been reported in the last event message. You have to make sure then, that your rule set is set-up to update this system parameter accordingly.
The availablitiy status can be used express if a resource is empty and available (Empty on stock) or e.g. in use. The logic to keep this status value in sync with the real world lies in your responsibility. You have to define your rule set accordingly for the event messages that have impact on this status. If you want to use a specific event message to set this status, you can use event code SET_AVAILABILITY which is already available in the standard content including rule set to set the status.
Best regards, Daniel
