Hi PP experts,
My problem is that in the forecast based planning, in case of 12 months forecast if the first months consumption value is 0;then system considers 11 months consumption.
eg. Apr-Mar : if Apr consumption is 0, SAP considers 11 months Consumption
Where should I look for this.
Regards,
Sagar
Hello Sagar,
You can use corrected consumption value that can be defined on the material master for a specific period.
Please refer SAP help link,

Hi Brahmankar,
First of all the link is very useful. Thanks for sharing such document.
But what is said in the link is already maintained.
My problem is suppose if April consumption is 0 then at the time of MRP run system considers only 11 months.I want that system should consider 12 months.
Historical period and Forecast Period maintained is 12
Lot size:YR maintained as per the link exactly
MRP type:VV
Sched Mar key:00
and one more thing if consumption is 0 for a particular month then for yearly consumption why system is not considering that 0 consumption of that particular month while MRP run.
Regards,
Sagar
Hello Sagar,
In this case you can use corrected consumption value which you can maintain in additional tab of material master. System consider the Total consumption value.
Zero consumptions at the start of the history should also be considered in the forecast.
Use the BAdI HISTORICAL_VALUES method LEADING_ZERO allows you to consider the zero values for certain periods when calculating the forecast if CV_OPTION = 'X' , the zeros are NOT deleted.. About this please consider the SAP note 1113277.

Hi,
Which forecast date we have to select at the time of forecast execute,i.e whether the current month or next month.
If we select next month then the system considers the first months "0" value at the time of calculation of the basic value.
And
If we select current month then system is not considering the first months value whether it is "0" or any other value.
Please guide me...
Regards,
Sagar
Hello Sagar,
This behavior as per the standard SAP system does not consider the ZERO value
Please seat with technical person and check the BAdi BAdI HISTORICAL_VALUES method LEADING_ZERO allows you to consider the zero values for certain periods when calculating the forecast.
Also note you can correct historical values manually.
If you wish you can refer OSS note 1113277 - Material forecast: Options for leading zeros
Hope clear to you.

Hi,Brahmankar;
As per your instruction i have checked the BAdI,
BAdI HISTORICAL_VALUES method LEADING_ZERO,
I found CV_OPTION = 'C'
And one more thing,
I want to know that when we execute the forecast then this screen appears then which month should we take, whether current month or next month
I have two scenarios,
1)When we select current month (04.2015) and values as follows then after forecast system is not considering current month consumption (whether it is "0" or any other value)
2)When we select next month and consumption values as above at the time of execute forecast as,
then we are getting forecast result as follows,
Please let me know why this happening.
Regards,
Sagar
Hi Brahmankar,
When I select current month (04.2015) then all the calculations for basic value goes wrong
and
When I select next month (05.2015) then the calculations for forecasting are correct
Please go through the following scenario
Historical periods:5
Forecast periods:5
Forecast Model: Moving average (G)
1)When I select current month
After forecast
2)When I select next month (05.2015)
After Forecast
I want to know why we are getting differences though we have maintained the consumption data as for both the cases,
Please have an idea over this....
Regards,
Sagar
Hello Sagar,
Please refer SAP help document.
Forecast-Based Planning - Material Requirements Planning (PP-MRP) - SAP Library
System reduces the current period's forecast requirements by the consumption figures from the same period. If material has already been withdrawn from stock during the current period, the forecast requirement is reduced by the withdrawn quantity. You can check the forecast value in table PROW.
The forecast of the current period uses the consumption data UP TO THE END of the LAST period.
This makes sense if the current period is almost over and you expect little change in the consumption
of the current period.
Best Regards,
R.Brahmankar
Hi Sagar,
Which Forecast Model you have maintained in Material Master.
Please select forecast Model 'G' (Moving average) & run forecast again.
Thanks,
