GRC AC 10.1: Mass Role derivation - Role Name is invalid

Former Member

Hello together,

we want to derive SIN Template roles into Childroles, derived (RDR) roles.

But in the last step we get an error "Role name is invalid"

Master role: TEMP_TEMP_MM_MM_PUR_INF_REC__9

DRD role:     0015_XXXX_MM_MM_PUR_INF_REC__9

How is the correct way to get fast a lot of derived roles with correct role names?

GRC Customizing: DRD Naming Convention:

GRC Customizing: Org.Level Maps:

Now the derived steps:

1) Select an Org.Map

2) Select Masterole

3) Derive roles:

Error: Wrong rolename for the DRD role and message "Role name is invalid".

Why is the DRD naming convention not working?

Correct name should be 0015_XXXX_MM_MM_PUR_INF_REC__9

(0015=BUKRS and XXXX=Werks (all=XXXX))

What is DERIVED_ORG_LEVEL and ORG_VAL_MAP?

Thanks for any helps and have a nice day!

Regards

René

Hello Rene,

Step 1:

Define the length of the derived role to something like 50-70 in Define Role length in Role Management

Step 2:

To build the role naming convention, let me take the example that you mentioned in the discussion

0015_XXXX_MM_MM_PUR_INF_REC__9

1.      What is 0015 here? If it keeps changing you can maintain it as FREE TEXT

2.      And for underscore you can maintain it as STATIC TEXT with a length as 1 and maintain _ in the column

3.      MM most probably might be process. So, Define it as BUSINESS PROCESS with length as 3

4.      And for underscore Follow Step 2

5.      After that, If you again need MM follow Step 3

6.      And again for underscore Follow Step 2

7.      For PUR if it is a SUB PROCESS under MM, then Select the same as SUB PROCESS with length as 4 or 5

8.      And again for underscore Follow Step 2

9.      Rest if you want to enter as per your convenience then select it as FREETEXT and mention the length as               around 15-20 which will give you a free hand to define the role.

Hope this is what you are trying to achieve.

Deepak M
