Hi Experts,
Currently we are linking WBS elements to capture Maintenance labor and maintane parts for a project specific work orders?
Our business would like to use Network and dmultiple activties to capture Labor and maintence cost?
I am aware that Networks can be linked to Work order and Network must be mainatined as Optional in Settlement Profile?
What is the best practice to link? Networks or Subnetworks?
Please advise.
Thanks Guys.Appreciate your help. The issue has been fixed.
Special thanks to Paulo and Saradhi.

Can anyone please advise me on OPTP?
I am clear with using the Control key-PS01(Internal Processing)
Not sure what to use for Network Type SubNtwrk and Network type Replaced act since we are using only Activty Assigned Network (PS02)
*Please advise.

Dear,
Having control key for network types is as similar as maintenance order functionality in plant maintenance.
You can choose PS01 for all network types as default key for internal project activities.
As per standard SAP control key PS02 is for external processing, to have external services.

Hi Ashley,
In OPTP the first field is the work order type (that is called Network type subnetwork, might be confusing to call order as subnetwork) and second field is the Network type.
Networks and orders share same table, so technically they are the same object and sometime orders are called networks and networks are called orders.
Inside the combo settings you can leave everything blank to start with. The important thing is to define allowed combinations for Network/Order assignments.

Paulo

Dear,
The best way to have control over your maintenance budget over "Main work center"i.e department like Mechanical, electrical and Instrumentation and civil etc..
First step:
You need to have Over head project and for which system should not create "AUC" for that WBS element.
Every year you need to have new Over head project for that financial year.
Second Step:
Create a "Z-TABLE"i.e custom table and have assignment of WBS element to "Main work center" with respective financial year.
Here you need to have save exit for maintenance order with respect to "Main work center" an d "WBS element" assignment of "Custom table entries.
Third Step:
Assign the "WBS element" in maintenance order "Additional data".
Now system will check the planned cost or actual cost of the maintenance order against WBS element assigned. If budget is available , system will process or else it will populate an error message.

Hi Ashely,
The account assignment object for PM Work Orders would be a Network Activity (NWA). But it actually does not mean you have to settle work orders to NWA.

Yes I did created a new project after the config.
my config is follows:
Network Type SubNtwrk: Z001-Activty Assigned Network
NetkTy replaced Act:Z001-Activty Assigned Network
Control Parameter:
Control key:PS01-Network Internal Processing
Copy Dates:1 Earliest Dates
I assume that I should give Control key: Network-Replaced by Subnetwork
Please advsie.
Hi Ashely,
you can assign WBS/Network as account assignment and when order completes than settle all the cost to same account assigned object.
thanks
Sunil
