Hi Thomas,

are you using internal batch numbering or external batch numbering ?. If you want batches with alpha numeric with special characters use external batch numbering. this will allow to use special characters also.

With internal numbering it is not possible to use alpha numeric with special characters.

Thanks

Kumar

Hello Thomas,

In standard SAP system you should have the batch with special characters  too

Where exactly are you getting this error?  Have you done any custom development for batch numbering SAPLV01Z? Are you using external number range for batches?

Hi

I am using sap standard batch numbering which is internal. When I create a production order, SAP is proposing a batch. Then I am able to overwrite that batch with an external alpha numeric number. I am getting error only when I use alpha numeric with special characteristics. Do I need to make it to external if I have to use special characters.

Hello Thomas,

Yes you required external number range active for batches, then you can use the special characters.

Dear Thomas,

It is a practice not to use special characters in batch number.

M3567 could be a standard message & doubt if it could be changed into warning.

Please let us know why & which special character you are trying to add.

Let's hear from other experts aswell.

Hello

In my internal test system I was able to create a batch with special characters (batch W@#$AS).

Check the following document to find out where an error message is triggered and it it is possible to change the message type:
