SAP PA - Licence problem? Automated Analysis Buttons grayed out

Former Member

Hi guys,

i recently installed SAP Predictive Analytics 2.0 and used it two weeks ago. Now i tried to continue my work with it and launched the application. The buttons for analysis are grayed out now, for instance, i can't click on "create a classification model":

I tought it have to be a licence problem and launched the expert mode, had 10 days left and added a new key (now: 60 days). I didn't solved my problem so i changed the keycode in cfg file (C:\Program Files\SAP Predictive Analytics\Desktop 2.0). It didn't solved the problem either.

Anyone can help me with that problem?

I go to Automated Analytics and also see the options grayed out. When I enter the key code (that I read from the license.cfg file I received) when prompted by the application, I got an error message that the key code was invalid.

Then I shut down the application, went to C:\Program Files\SAP Predictive Analytics\Desktop 2.0

and replaced the license.cfg file. Then started PA again and the licenses for the various Automated Analytics components now show as unlimited and on the Automated Analytics screen, the options are no longer grayed out.

However, when I go to Expert Analytics, the app prompts me for a license. When I enter the same key code, again I get an error message that the key code was invalid.

Hi,

I dropped you an email so that we can figure out what's happening. Please get back to me when possible.

Thanks & regards

Thanks Antoine!

Worked with Antoine offline, turns out the license key I had was only for Automated Analytics. Obtained the appropriate key code and entered it into Expert Analytics when prompted and now both Automated and Expert Analytics are working for me.

Hi Andreas, just in case you over-looked it...

Did you make sure to close down Predictive Analytics, then update the key in the .cfg file, and then re-open Predictive Analytics?

Updating the key while Predictive Analytics is open will not automatically make the links click-able.

Hey,

i did restarted PA and the whole notebook. So that can't be the problem. I will double check the key or request another one I hope it will work then!

Thank you for your help guys!

Hi Andreas,

If you wish, send me your key code at my SAP email adress. Use the email: firstname[dot]lastname[at]SAP[dot]com (replace firstname and lastname by mine ;-)). I'll get a look.

Thanks

Thanks Andreas.

Some additional questions:

- What is the version displayed in Windows Program & Features? (mine is 2.0.0.137)

- What is the Windows operating system you are using?

- Do you have a full license enabling the Automated Analytics capabilities?

Best regards,

Antoine

Hey,

- Version 2.0.0.137

- 64 Bit Win7 (64Bit PA Installation)

- Pretty sure. In my Key-Document it says:

SAP Predictive Analytics - 2.0 - KEY

Predictive Analytics-Automated Analytics - Use File in License Keyfiles Folder-PA2.0

Best Regards,

Andreas

Hi again

Thanks for the added information.

It seems the key code is not enabling the automated analytic features, at least per the way the product is behaving.

See http://scn.sap.com/thread/3578771 for a thread where the result in the product is the same.

I recommend two things:

Best regards,

Antoine
