Flatfile with decimals

Hey Guys,

I hope I found the right spot for my Question.

My Problem is:

I have a flatfile which contains Data involving char and dec. So I created a infoobject for my primarykey and created in the same step the other infoobjects as attributes. Afterwards I did the Transformation etc.. Everything worked out, but at the end when I openend my data in SAP, All numbers now are Integers. Moreover all 0 are not shown.

I tried to fix it by changing to FLTP in the Transformation process, but this wouldn´t do the magic either.

Now I´m thinking the problem could invlove my infoobjects. I created those who are having trouble with my data as NUMC instead of CHAR. Because I want to work with my numbers in the future. But NUMC just allows numbers. Does this mean commas are a problem for NUMC? But if I change my Infoobjects to CHAR I wont be able to work with my data, right?

Or is it somthing completly different?

Cheers and thanks in advance,

Tizian

Hi Tizian,

In my opinion you should an appropriate Key Figure, e.g. Amount (refer to 0AMOUNT) or Quantity (refer to 0QUANTITY). Here you will have max. of 3 decimals with the standard domain. It could be increased by a special procedure but only if really necessary.

You can also define your own Key Figure of type Number. Here you can also use Data Type DEC with x decimals.

You can explore table RSDKYF for examples (also in Business Content) to find one fulfilling your requirements.

Best regards,

Sander
