Value unrestricted is zero.

While running Tcode MB52 with specific material code, that material's unrestricted value is zero even some quantity is there.

I have checked in material master for Moving price, it is also zero. then I have used transaction code MR21 to update moving price, moving prices is successfully updated but report MB52 still comes with zero value. Is something missing? or Which step I have missed?

Hi , I have resolved this issue.

Procedure...

There are two MM period opens at a same time in sap (in my case FEB15,MAR15).

I am updating value in feb15 period so somehow it is not getting updated in the period of MAR15.

and valuation is based on last period's value.. so

I have changed pricing in last period and material valuation is coming correct.

That's the default behavior. If you want to update the current period you must change the pricing update config. What the default does is post two accounting documents, one in period -1 to set the price you chose on MR21, and another one in the current period to compensate the change.

Since you had no price in FEB15 it wasn't posting anything. In these things it's very important to say if you are not posting in the current period, there a lot of tiny quirks .

Please share material master accounting 1 view , If you want show just remove description and material code .. Don't remove other values. and show material type screen also for this material. Please check for other material with this material type any posting happend. If there please check accounting entries generating or not. Hope my understood is may be in OMS2 for material type for this plant value updating tick mark was not checked. Please check above all and let share screen shots.

You say you made a change in price in MR21, what keys were posted in the accounting document? Was any value posted to the stock account?

If value was posted: A bug, open a OSS message;

If value wasn't posted: Check the material type configuration for that plant, it's probably not set for valuation.

Mentioned issue is in production server for that I am trying in development server first, so It says

Check the material type configuration for the plant. The material type is probably non valuated for that specific plant.

Qty update and Value update both are marked for this material type..

Then you should post a OSS message for that. If the material has a price control V (MAP) and the material type is configured as valuated in SPRO for that plant, then your MR21 should have posted an accounting document.

You didn't say about the movement type. Can you able to see the stock under storage location in MMBE ? Can you please share the screen shot of MB52 and MMBE ?

Can you able to see the total value for material in material master record (MM03) ?

How the material came into stock ? Check is there any accounting entry happened (with stock account) at the time of stock increase.

Also check the material type for value update in OMS2.

This issue happen when I have extend material from another plant/strloc ( didnt check price at that time)

then after I need to increase stock so I have used MB1C tcode i.e.GR without PO using MB1C 'due to company requirement'.

while checking MB52 stock is increased with proper qty. but price not proper.

What was the movement type you have used on MB1C ? and what was the accounting entry for this movement type ?

And have you checked the value update indicator in OMS2 for the material type with regards to the plant ?
