HI,

where can we find the relationship on what cost elements required to be assigned to which value fields in the PA transfer structure if it is a direct FI posting?

Dear Sinu,

I am not very sure if I understood your query properly. Generally PA transfer structure is the place where you decide how you want to map your cost elements and value fields. This is something that your business needs to decide.

HI Abishek,

there is a new cost element requires to be mapped. the user is trying to raise a journal and receive error that the cost element is missing mapping. this is a GAAP account with cost element category 1.

now in this scenario how do i ascertain to which source data in KEi2 should i assign this missing cost element mapping? i beleive the relationship should be to the value field.

what i am trying to understand is the relationship between the value field to the cost elements in the source?

For This two things need to remember. One is Record Type, and another one is PA Transfer Structure. Record type will tell u flow of values from where, that is SD, MM, FI. And at the same time u will assign Source of cost element to target value fields in PA transfer structure.

For example salaries posted in FI, here Record Type B come into existence, and Hit the Relevant FI PA Transfer structure. Here Source is Salary Cost Element and Target is Salary Value Field.

Similarly Sales Happened, u will map relevant SD conditions with relevant value fields.

That means based on expected postings in FI, SD, PP, etc u will maintain PA transfer Structure. And PA transfer structure has assignments which Consists of source of cost element and target value fields.

HI Ismail,

unfortunately my query is not answered.

we are referring to a direct FI posting. a manual journal is raised and a cost element is not mapped in the PA transfer structure to FI. the cost element is a GAAP account. how do i know to which assignment source cost element group do i need to assign the missing cost element?

with ref to SD side, condition types are mapped to value fields and then i will be able to identify the source cost elements. how do i know for Fi postings?

is there a profitability segment asignment in the customer master record?
