EP provisioning failure with error "Exception when creating user :USERID_CONTAINED_IN_PASSWORD"

Hi All,

I get the below error when attempting to create a user in the EP system using GRC ARM.

Error message ===>  EP provisioning failure with error "Exception when creating user :USERID_CONTAINED_IN_PASSWORD"

I have followed the standard EP guide for configuration.

Particularly, I have ensured the correct setup of the following:

1) The connector/logical port setup looks fine.

2) The parameter maintenance also looks correct.

3) The user data source is left empty as suggested by SAP.

One point I have noticed is that the user count constantly shows ZERO. To address this, I have already followed the notes 1857609 & 1712560 too but still count is ZERO.

NOTE: I am told that the logical port has to be maintained as Active in the SOAMANAGER (tcode) by the basis team. How and where in SOAMANAGER do I ensure the same  ? Directions for the same is highly appreciated.

Please provide inputs to address this issue.

Hello Arun,

The exception error occurs due to incorrect parameters mapping,could you check the below parameters in your system

User id :logonname

Password:password

and also double check all other parameters and compare with below document.

Thanks for the link. The EP patch was causing an issue along with the password parameter.

Hey Arun,

      Good to know that your error got solved. I am getting exactly the same error. Could you please tell me what did you do exactly? I have checked the parameter mapping. They are absolutely fine. Anything else to be checked?
