How to Hide unwanted Value categories in cost tab of Work order?

Hello experts,

Our client was facing an issue regarding cost differences in Work order cost report and MCI3 cost report. We found resolution as to delete some Duplicate value categories, because these value categories were causing duplication of cost in MCI3 report. After deleting these duplicate value categories and updating infostructures cost is matching in work order and MCI3 cost report.

Now business is asking to hide the unused value categories being displayed in work order costing tab which have been deleted as per afore said request. Is there any way to hide these unused value categories?

Hello All,

We found solution to hide/remove unused value categories.

i.e.,We have to delete Value categories from below path.

Plant Maintenance and Customer Service -> Maintenance and Service Processing -> Basic Settings -> Settings for Display of Costs -> Define Default Values for Value Categories

I have a question on the same, What is the effect if we delete value categories from below mentioned path in SAP?

Hi Surya,

to update value categories in PM orders you can use program RIPMCO00.

After running the program, the deleted value categories should disappear.

Thanks for your reply.

We have executed this proram for all the work order types required. Even then we could see unused value categories.

We are not seeing cost against these unused value categories, along with that we should not see unused value categories in cost tab at all.
