BW 7.3 Hybrid Providers

Hi Experts,

From BW 7.3 we have Hybrid providers which conatins one Infocube and other DSO or Virtual Info provider.

In case of Hybrid Provider with Virtual Infoprovider, Query takes Near Real Time data from Infocube and for Real time it hits virtual cube.

Can any one clarify how Query identifies the data to as realtime or not and which cube to hit.

Also is it mandatory to have BWA for Hybrid providers?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks,

PN.

No,i don't think BWA is mandatory for hybrid providers but yes having BWA accelerates the performance. The data of the infocube can be pushed in BWA for better performance.

Also, if you store the infocube data in BWA you indirectly index DSO data.So this implies data can be stored in BW system or BWA

Historical data which is stored in the infocube is available through SAP Netweaver BWA and new data is read from the source system through virtual provider at the time of query execution.

System automatically determines whether the data requested resides in the infocube or has to be read from the source system using Virtual provider

Hi,

I think it reads the real infocube update and based on that define the virtual cube fetch.

E.g. If your real cube is loaded till yesterday (time) and you trigger a query on that HP. Then the till yesterday data will be fetch from real cube where as real time data from yesterday till today (time) will be fetch in run time in virtual cube.

In this way the HP will be able to provide the real time data.

No BWA is not mandatory for HP use.

Thank-You.
