Can anyone explain abt Generic data source?

Hi Rammohan,

Generic data source in BW is used to extract data from tables , views , ABAP query, or by a function module.

Usually generic data source is used for custom development for those business scenarios for which standard business contents have not been delivered by SAP.

If you have access to BW system check out this tcode RSO2.

BW uses Generic data source to extract data from R3 to BW. There are business content (delivered) or you can create your own.
