PR Release Strategy...wants to ignore one characterstic

Hi folks!!

We are redesigning PR release strategy, we are using MRP controller as characteristic. but in case we are creating PR without material code then we need to ignore MRP controller characteristic.

It means while applying characteristics on PR release system will ignore the MRP controller and apply the remaining characteristics.

Please propose a solution.

As per the OSS note 493900 - FAQ: Release Strategy question no. 14.

System will search blank value when system will find more than one value in purchasing document.

By setting the classification value as blank, doesn't mean it will not consider for release procedure.

Alternative: Instead of using the field MRP controller, please use CEKKO-USRC1 for same purpose with your own defined coding by using the user exit EXIT_SAPLEBND_002.

For material with material code MRP controllers are there, and also maintained in classification.

Do you mean leave it blank? and then it will work.

Isn't blank just another valid value for the MRP controller field then in your classification?
