SPP- DRP - Supersession - Predecessor net demand not rolled up to successor

Former Member

HI

In SPP - DRP, if a product is in supersession , the predecessor products' net demand is not getting rolled up to the successor product.

If for example, Product A is being superseded by Product B, if we continue to get sales order demand in Product A, this demand is not getting rolled up to the successor product.

We want this predecessor product demand to get added into successor demand and get  into the schedule line created.

Request some urgent help please,,

regards

SRS Kannan

Hi Kannan,

DRP does not forward net demand of a predecessor to the successor.

This function is not available with a regular supersession chain.

Only supersession of type FFF and Remand Seed have such a feature.

Dear Mallampalli

Thanks.  We are deciding to change the supersession chains into FFF.  Is there any report available for cancellation of the chains in MASS and upload FFF chains.

Hi Sir,

There is no standard report to delete Interchangeability groups or chains in mass in production system.

You can use below Z report to delete groups in test systems.

Report ZINCMD_DELETE_ALL_GROUPS, using the note 1626688.

But In standard process , you have to archive all groups and then delete them, for this you can refer the below help link.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_em70/helpdata/en/43/c3a9dbd157332ee10000000a11466f/content.htm?frameset=...

You have to use archiving object  CA_INCMD for achiving and deleting Interchangeability groups.

Thanks & Regards

Hi Kannan,

Check the SPPD date in Supersession chain, it should be current day or in the past. Realignment of demand from predecessor to Successor will happen only when SPPD date reached.

Also check the no of look back days for supersession realignment in the configuration of "Reorganization of Demand History" within config settings of Forecasting.

Hope you've maintained all mandatory master data/parameters for your supersession chain already.

Thanks

Hi Vinoth

Thanks for your reply

Our issue , I am repeating,

Not in demand capture, at DRP

Predecessor product having open sales order (past due customer open orders) are not getting added into the successor product at DRP.

Please have this while checking the issue

Hi Kannan,

What kind of SS Chain is it (Chain Type).

As you may know DRP substitute Orders for only 1:1 chains.

Thanks

Yes Vinoth

These are 1:1 only

Normally we will not receive sales orders in Predecessor product once the respective dates are arrived. But in my Business scenorio, we continue to get sales orders in Predecessor products along with the successor products . Our requirement is the current over due predecessor products' demand to be added to the over due demand of the successor product.

Hope this time i have tried to clarify my issue correctly

Help on this will be much    respected,  thanks

Hi Kannan,

How are you doing?

"Roll up" is when the requirements are rolled up from the lower level of BOD to the top level of parent location. What you want here is called Supersession Realignment.

In order to do realignment of demands between predecessors and successors you must run planning service SPP_PDEM_SUPERSESSION_RLG over these products. Then the demand of the predecessor will be realigned to the successor accordingly.

Hi Rodrigo

I am Fine, Thanks , How are you,,

You are right, i should not have used the word "roll up",

Supersession realignment , yes, will realign the demand history for the predecessors and  successors.

What we are looking here is the open sales order, which are in overdue and yet to be serviced in the predecessor product.  This demand we expect to be calculated in the successor product while we are doing the DRP run.

Our scenario is we continue to get sales orders in the predecessor product and we need to service in the successor product.

The real overdue in the  open customer demand of the predecessor product, this qty we want to add in the successor product.

Hope this is clear,

regards
