storage location mrp indicator

dear experts

I have a problem about mrp.

Our mrp has a one plant P100, storage location A, B.

storage location B is on-site location by shop floor.

storage location A is a warehouse.

we set the material master like following because we want to keep some stock level at storage location B.

Storage location B is set Sloc MRP indicator 2(Storage location stock planned separately) and reorder point qty about some material master in mrp 4 view storage level.

So storage location B is provided with some material from storage location A when material stock in B is under reorder point.

if some material's requirement is 100 and B has 100 stock and A has no stock, after mrp run, 100 PR is created. this is our problem.

i don't want to be created procurement requisition at location A.

In other words, when mrp runs, i want to include location B's stock.

is it possible?

thanks in advance.

Hello

No, it is not possible to define a storage location as planned separately and also consider this stock at plant level when running MRP.

This is not possible and your business requirement does not make sense to me. You have mentioned that you have defined this storage location as planned separately because you want to keep some stock under storage location B, therefore, why do you want to consider this quantity when running MRP? MRP would consider this quantity, a replenishment proposal would not be created and you would end up without stock on storage location B.

Can you please explain exactly what is the expected system behavior?

Storage location B is just on-site location. in order to use some material in production instantly, we always want to keep  some stock level at storage location B. so we use reorder point of mrp 4 view at location level to replenish some material automatically. when we run mrp, mrp creates transfer reservation from A to B. but side effect exists. the problem is that if we see mrp at plant level, we cannot consider storage location B's stock.

Hello

This is exactly the idea of planning a storage location separately, that means, this stock should not be included on the plant stock during the MRP run.

You can try a solution to include this stock on the plant stock using BAdI MD_CHANGE_MRP_DATA.

Hello,

You can try use Storage location MRP Area for B location.

Sounds like you do not run MRP on plant level, while this is what you want to do.

Normally MD02 will look at plant rather then storage location. I think you will have to go to the material master, MRP4 tab for the plant/storage locations.

Make sure the storage location MRP indicator is blank (1 or 2 is false in this situation).
