Process Chain Monitoring

Hello experts,

I'm using SAP Solution Manager to monitor SAP BW Process Chains.

I'm trying to configure it to send e-mail when some alerts occur (I have already define this alerts).

How can I parametrize the Solman to send e-mails (is it possible)?

I have search and I haven't found anything.

Hi Rui,

I am not sure if this is the approach you were looking for.

Open the process chain in the change mode. Go to any step you would like to add the alert. Right click on it and Create message. Once done you could enter the recipients mail id and save it.

I'm trying to configure monitor alert for process chain throught Solution Manager.

The approach that you mentioned is directly in BW.

Hi Rui,

Usually e-mail alerts are configured from within the Template Maintenance option under system monitoring. In order to get there, launch t-code SOLMAN_SETUP --> SAP Solution Manager: Configuration --> Technical Monitoring --> System Monitoring --> Template Maintenance.

Select whatever template you're using for Process Chain monitoring, click the Notifications tab and you'll see the Recipient List for addresses and e-mail groups. Other than setting e-mails for all items inside a specific template, you can also set up e-mails per individual alert types. For that, go to the Alerts tab --> Notifications.

*Make sure to keep all SAP standard monitoring templates intact and create copies of them before you start your customizations. The client needs to be open for changes and Software Components Home and LOCAL made changeable as well.

I have reached the spot where the templates are.

However I'm a little bit lost on what template should be used for the process chain monitoring alert.

You are in the wrong spot, system monitoring templates do not control or interact with BW process chain monitoring.

First what version of SolMan are you running as this impacts where we tell you to navigate to particular spots in the workcenter.

Second can you supply a screenshot of what you have done so far in process chain monitoring?
